This video of Tonia was taken in my studio a while back. I had it in my open studio playing on loop.

Anna Leonie Transfer workshop

image

Last week (from the 27th till the 30th of November) I joined the ‘TRANSFER’ workshop , designed by Anna Leonie, an artist based in Munich, Germany. The first day we built an installation in our project space by creating a grid of 6 vertical and 5 horizontal red string lines.  The second day each one of us brought two objects from home that represented two different aspects of our work. I brought a hairbrush, since at the time being I’ve been working with the idea of hair, and also headphones, since music has always been a motivation and fuel for my work. We then curated these two objects by placing them inside the installation with a time limit of five minutes each. The picture above is of my five minute curation result :). The third day we created a map that would guide people into our work  which included the objects that were brought by every student. The fourth and last day we presented our maps to each other and also analyzed them. In the end of the day we presented everything in the installation were anyone could come and see. A lot of interesting and intensive conversations took place all through the workshop. I always considered space a very important aspect of my work and I am very glad I joined this workshop since it gave me a strong sense of space and how it can be used. Exhibiting next year in the CO2 space with the view of the castle which could potentially dominate my work, now feels less terrifying 🙂
